Heritage Group
Welcome to the official web site of the
Conisbrough & Denaby Main
Heritage Group

The group has over 300 members and has collected more than 7000 photographs, a broad selection will be displayed on this site.  We do have some names but if you can put any more names to faces please contact us.

This web site is about the history of the two villages of   Conisbrough and Denaby Main and the people who have lived here. The Conisbrough & Denaby Main Heritage Group was started in October 2000 by a handful of people who were interested in making the history of Conisbrough & Denaby Main available to everyone.  The next year we started collecting photographs of the area to save them from being lost or destroyed. We were holding monthly talks at Conisbrough library with a local or historical connection but since the summer of 2009 we have held them at The Ivanhoe Centre.    Our photographs can be seen on the first Friday and Saturday of each month from September through until June on The Heritage Landing in Conisbrough Library, when members of the Group are there to assist and answer questions on local or even family history. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available. We also have a small permanent display of pictures in the library that is changed each month.

The Group publishes a monthly newsletter delivered to members only and twice a year  organise a trip to a place of interest.  We are a none profit making organisation, charging enough to cover costs.

Every year we make a calendar and sell them around the local area.

If you are interested in joining our group, we charge a nominal annual fee for which you will receive the monthly newsletter either posted or delivered to your door.  You will also get admission to the talks and day trips at a reduced charge.
